Twenty years ago, Colin Grant learned VFX because a shot he'd imagined wasn't in front of the camera. He learned motion graphics because a scene needed rhythm the edit couldn't give it. Then the craft demanded more precision than his current tools could deliver. He learned motion capture because a performance had to reach a place a body couldn't get to. He learned 3D and virtual production because a world had to exist before the camera arrived.

AI cinematography is the current chapter. It's not a departure from what came before. It's what all of that was training for — the moment where every previous discipline finally answers to a single director's vision.

Now he directs AI cinematography, builds the pipelines behind it, and leads the teams that use both.
